The fabrication process for making film, sheet and section
materials is based on the method where a thin layer of polymer is
continuously skived from a sintered cylindrical billet using a
lathe with a flat cutting tool. Unlike a PTFE parts fabrication
technique based on lathing where cuttings are viewed as waste, this
process is actually aimed at producing continuous cuttings which
are a finished product.
Our company uses a process which enables us to fabricate
skived tape, film and square and rectangular shapes.
In accordance with GOST 24222-80, PTFE-processing industries
fabricate the following types of films (tapes): capacitor tape,
electrical tape, insulating tape and spacer film with a thickness
of 5 μm to 3 mm.
The following product range can be fabricated in the PTFE
skiving and shaping workshop:
- PTFE tape of the PN grade (in accordance with GOST 24222-80)
with a thickness of 0.2 to 3 mm and a width of 40 to 150 mm;
- PTFE films of the EN, IO, IN grades (in accordance with GOST
24222-80) with a thickness of 0.02 to 0.2 mm and a width of 20 to
120 mm;
- PTFE-based tape made from the F4K15M5-L compound (in
accordance with the specifications TU 6-05-05-138-80) with a
thickness of 1 to 2 mm and a width of 40 to 150 mm;
- PTFE-based tape made from the F4K20 compound (in accordance
with the specifications TU 6-05-05-138-80) with a thickness of 0.5
to 2 mm and a width of 20 to 150 mm;
- Shapes with circular or rectangular sections made from PTFE and
PTFE-based compounds (F4K20, F4K15M5) with side dimensions of 0.2
to 15 mm.
PTFE skived tape can be used as a gasket material in electrical
and heating engineering, and is used as a material for fabrication
of gaskets with a thickness of 0.5 to 2 mm.
PTFE-based tape made from the F4K15M5-L compound can be used
for making self-lubricating guides for CNC machines. PTFE-based
tapes made from the F4K20 compound can be used as blanks for making
rings for hydraulic and air cylinders.
PTFE shapes are the product of choice for sealing
large-diameter cups and shafts and are also used for making split
sealing rings.
