PTFE Protective Covers
|

Covers are fabricated in accordance with TU 95-81-81
|
|
PTFE protective covers are intended to protect gasket material
(rubber, paronite, asbestos, etc.) from aggressive media within the
operating temperature range of -269îÑ to
+260îÑ.
Covers can be used in any media, except molten alkali metal
solutions, trifluorochlorine and elementary fluorine.
The main advantage of this type of seals as compared to
rubber, polyurethane, paronite, asbestos, leather and cardboard
seals its high long-term elasticity (there is no direct contact
between the elastic element and the media because the seal has a
casing).
This type of seals does not require great compression efforts.
Due to its elasticity, seals compensate for roughness of contact
surfaces of a flanged connection.
Quality characteristics of fluoroplastic covers should comply
with the requirements and standards specified in the table
below:

Covers' colour - from white to grey. Colour variations,
circular hairlines and surface impositions with a size of not more
than 1 mm per each 25 cm2 of the surface area are
allowed without any limitations; the maximum number of surface
impositions with a size of 1 mm - 2 mm is 2; the maximum number of
surface impositions with a size of 2 mm - 4 mm is 1.
Cover buckling (bending) is allowed.
No cracks, holes, tears or through (end-to-end) impositions
are not allowed.
