Rods made from PTFE and PTFE-based compounds can be machined
into fluoroplastic components and items. High radiation resistance,
mechanical strength and low permeability of fluoroplastic make it a
material of choice for aviation, nuclear, chemical and medical
industries.
Vertically pressed fluoroplastic rods are fabricated using the
compression molding method followed by sintering.
Vertically pressed fluoroplastic rods differ from horizontally
pressed fluoroplastic rods in that the former do not have a side
gate runner (flash) and are characterised by even density of
material throughout the volume of the stock shape which ensures
improved physical and mechanical properties.
